This installment of the GardenTags ‘How to’ series by Michael Palmer is all about getting late summer colour and indeed autumn colour in your gardens.  This is why we’re dedicating it to all those late bloomers out there.  You know, those plants that people think will never amount to much but surprise us all with glorious late summer and autumn colour.

Michael walks us through his gorgeous garden showing us what he’s got blooming in the garden and how he’s keeping it flowering. There’s dahlia that are a late summer favourite and will flower up until the first frosts. As long as you keep deadheading them they’ll go on and on!

Michael also shows us his grasses which create great structure and movement to a garden, they also go well with Aster Little Carlo.  As he walks through the garden we see Sedum which are a complete paradise for bees, japanese anemones and a wonderful rose.
