All Heuchera, Heucherella and Tiarella are evergreen and very hardy. So this gives great colour all year round. This is why we love them so much. Read on to learn more ….
Heucherella Solar Eclipse
Beautiful large scalloped edged leaves of dark maroon, which go deeper in the cold weather with a bright lime edge. Loves the full shade or partial shade …but never the full sun. As you can see from the picture they look beautiful even on a frosty day!
Heuchera and Heucherella are widely varied in colour and shape making a great addition to your garden all year round. As the leaves and flowers vary so widely, it’s easy to put together combinations to keep your garden looking bright.
Heuchera Lime Rickey
Striking lime green gently ruffled foliage with pretty white flowers in Summer. Loves the full shade or partial shade …but never the full sun
Heucherella Solar Power has deep-red splashed, lobed leaves of yellow-gold to lime-green which form a spreading mound. It forms a neat mound, but if planted over an edge of a pot it will gently cascade but not trail. Once again loves the full shade or partial shade …but never the full sun
They are very low maintenance perennials suitable for containers, borders, ground cover, and even hanging baskets!
They prefer moist well drained soil (not water logged) but can endure periods without much water, so if you forget to water them for a few days don’t worry!
Heuchera Silver Celebration
Top of leaves, second picture, showing the fabulous purple underside. This was bred by us and launched at the Chelsea flower show to celebrate 25 years of Plantagogo in 2015. It makes a neat plant with lots of silvery tones topped with pretty white flowers and purple ruffles from the underside of the leaves. It’s great for full sun or partial shade and she can grow in full shade but will loose some of the colour and vibrancy, best in full sun to get the most vibrant colour.
All Heuchera and Heucherella flower. Most in the Spring and Summer some nearly all year round. The pretty flowers are a real attraction for bees buzzing round them all summer. Making them great pollinating plants for your garden.
A great plant for those who like to see changes throughout the seasons, never staying the same. Starting out as a pink-red with yellow edges in Spring. Changes start to happen as the weather starts to warm in early summer, the pink-red starts to fade giving over to a yellow flush over the leaves, leaving red veining and golden yellow foliage throughout most of the summer. Pretty white flowers in spring and summer make it a great plant for a shady place. It prefers shade or partial shade… no hot sun for this one though!
We started our nursery in 1990 growing a variety of different plants. In 1999 our website Plantagogo was introduced.
For many year now we have specialised in Heuchera, Heucherella and Tiarella. We are National Collection Holders of all three genus and have our own breeding program creating brand new varieties. You can make an appointment to visit the nursery in Cheshire, or pop into one of our open days we hold throughout the year. (see website for details)
A new variety for 2016. It has a very strong habit beautiful large slightly wavy edged red –pink foliage depending on the time of year and how much sun it gets. The more sun the redder it goes. Needless to say it loves the full sun or partial shade. Pretty pink –white flowers in Summer/Autumn which will have the bees buzzing with delight.
Heuchera Phoebes Blush was bred by us. She is named after Vicky’s Granny. Unusual colour which are constantly changing.
Starting off in spring as really pink on the new foliage, later changing through dusky pink, pale green, and vanilla. The underside of the foliage is always pink. Pretty two tones pink and white flowers in spring and summer. Neat habit. Will grow in full sun, partial shade or even shade, in every position she will be a different tone. The best place in my opinion is in full sun, where she will get the best pink foliage.
Over the years we have attended many shows promoting our plants. To date we now have over 100 Gold medals of which 60 are RHS gold medal. In 2009 we were invited to attend the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show. We were thrilled to be awarded a Gold medal, and we have worked very hard since to acheive 8 consecutive RHS Chelsea Gold medals 2009 – 2016.
